EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIESThere are currently (2013) 27 members of the European Union; there were originally only 15 countries, with ten others being included on the 1st May, 2004 and an additional two on 1st January, 2007. The original 15 countries were:- Austria - Belgium - Denmark - Finland - France - Germany - Greece Ireland - Italy - Luxembourg - Netherlands - Portugal - Spain - Sweden - United Kingdom
